    Re #3: St Louis claims the first one opened there in ’05. But Seattle does have a plaque, so…

    Re #5: The revolving restaurant on top of the Ala Moana tower in Honolulu opened the year before the Space Needle, in 1961. Both were designed by the same Seattle architectural firm, John Graham & Associates.

    Yeah I guess there’s alot of things that claim to be "the first"….Hard to say for sure I guess….

    Re #5, I wasn’t able to find the date that the Ala Moana tower opened in 1961….The Space Needle restaurant was dedicated on May 22, 1961 even though the World’s Fair was in ’62….

    Thanks for the comment severinus, let’s just say for sure that the Space Needle had the first revolving restaurant in the continental United States :)
