fresh at the farmers market

Potatoes are in season right now at the farmers markets. Availalbe in a ranibow of colors, they couldn’t be easier to prepare. Just toss with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper and roast them in the oven. These were from the Madrona farmers market and they were delicious. What are your farmers market favorites this time of year?

Are these the variety pack from Olsen’s? I get these every week. I love these little ping-pong ball-sized potatoes. They are great to boil for a nicoise and they roast well, too.

I am not sure which vendor it was (bad me), but they have a whole assortment of potatoes with a nice descriptive sign for each variety and you can make your own mix and match bag, since they are all the same price per pound. The signs also give you some info on the best ways to cook each type (roast, boil, bake….)
