Gather
A couple of weeks ago, while in Columbia City, I peeked in the windows of what looked like a very cool new gallery called Gather. They were closed at the time, so I took this picture of their sign with my phone to remind me to look them up when I got home. I’m so sorry that I didn’t look them up right away, since it appears I’ve just missed the “ephemeral retail installation” that I saw through the window. The retail installation featured works by local ceramic artists JBJE and glass by Levi Belber. Even though the exhibit is gone, there is a Flickr photoset of the installation here. Just look at all of these goregous bowls!
Gather is currently featuring paintings and prints by Liz Walsh in an exhibit entitled “Tomorrow,” which looks equally interesting. I’m definitely going to try to make it down there before I miss this one. And a dinner at the fabulous La Medusa down the street wouldn’t hurt either.
Gather 4863 Rainier Avenue S. The “Tomorow” exhibit runs through October 12 “Gather is a non-traditional gallery operating within an ever-changing installation space, featuring great ideas, local artists and our very own special occasion gift collection.” [#}
Ooh, that looks awesome. FYI, JBJE = Jeremy Bert and Jen Elek, the artists who did the neon installation in the McLeod Residence lounge.
wow – they are versatile!
