Jet City Improv

I just spent the last two hours laughing my ass off at the shenanigans of the Jet City Improv team. This is the second weekend in a row I’ve gone because it is just that damn good. Every weekend the creative team there brings the funny big time, with an alternating cast you can be sure to see an array of hilarious performers every weekend night.

Jet City performs several shows every weekend with three hilarious basic improv shows (your standard awesome Jet City Improv performance), a love advice show called Suave, Twisted Flicks where the Jet City performers do a live “dubbing” over an old shitty film (thereby making said shit film totally hilarious) ala Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and a show that’s getting a lot of attention, Cupcake. I haven’t seen it but I hear it’s naughty and can get a little creepy.

The latest addition to the line up is a mystery improv show called Clues and judging by the previews looks promising. JCI has also got a daytime kids show going called Hogwash in which they use suggestions from young children in the audience. Seattlest has a review.

Jet City Improv performs at 10:30pm Fridays and at 8:00pm and 10:30pm on Saturdays. Clues runs Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00pm. Suave is Saturday nights at midnight:30 and Cupcake runs Friday nights at midnight:30. If you come to one of the regular improv shows you can stick around and see Suave or Cupcake for five bucks more. Tickets to the regular shows are ten bucks. If you’re a student with ID you can get your broke ass in there for eight leaving you two bucks for Ramen or beer! SCORE!
