Black Hawks Down Second Avenue

It’s not really news, anymore, that there were several Black Hawk helicopters circling downtown and SoDo this afternoon. But I was lucky enough to snap a quick photo as they zoomed overhead. A routine trip to the doctor’s office has never before been so exciting for me.

The copter pilots were trying to get familiar with the local geography in preparation for the opening ceremony of this Sunday’s NFC Championship game. [kiro7]

But enough about that. Which do you prefer: Black Hawk helicopters or Blue Angels buzzing downtown?

Weird. I saw them whiz by my Dentist’s office, but was unable to grab a picture.. Nice job!

I didn’t notice the helicopters; so they are automatically better than the blue angels.

My camera-phone just doesn’t convey a lot of emotional weight – five of those things were right above us, and it was pretty exhilirating!

    Aw, Josh, don’t be a hater! :)

I much prefer the Blue Angels. I have a “thing” for that sonic boom. If you know what I mean, and I think you do.

They flew right by a conference room I was having a meeting in and stopped it cold while we all speculated, so that gives them a slight edge over the Blue Angels. Which doesn’t mean much, really.

It’s a hard choice for me. The noise, speed, and acrobatics of the Blue Angels are certainly superior, but there’s just something about a helicopter up close that really turns my crank. :)
