Scenes Around Town: Countdown to Thanksgiving

Earlier this August, I expressed my opinion of Lincoln Tower — namely, that I thought it was overpriced, even for the area, and that I had been hoping for some good shopping or good eating, and so far didn’t see anything to pee my pants over.

We’re fast approaching the Thanksgiving deadline for the grand opening, and everything seems to be going as scheduled. If you have really good eyes (or if you’ve driven past the area recently) you can see from the photo that the Container Store is “Now Open”. Thomasville, upstairs, is packed with furniture. The three-story waterfall is flowing. I peeked in a few restaurants (McCormick and Schmicks; Maggiano’s), and everyone has tables and chairs. It won’t be long now before NE 8th is completely jammed with cars at a standstill. But don’t take that as an invitation to play in traffic. The skybridge is ready for pedestrians to use — according to the signs, it’s “Bellevue’s First Skybridge” — I guess they don’t count any of the skybridges that go from the parking lot to the Square?
