Grey’s Anatomy Recap: Now It’s Really the End of the World as We Know It (season 2, epidose 17)

gas2e17_moving.jpg

Intervening events (the Winter Olympics (or rather, my roommate’s obsession with the Winter Olympics), schoolwork, and my own upcoming trip to Amsterdam (to visit Josh, who I am supposed to be filling in for)) are delaying the extensive recap, for which I sincerely apologize. A thorough recap is coming soon! Cross my heart, and hope not to turn into “pink mist” [see last week's episode [#]]. After the jump a quick and dirty–very quick and dirty–recap of this week’s episode, The End of the World As We Know It (Part II).

grey’s anatomy extra : podcasts

Er, even though this site has an obsessive relationship with Grey’s Anatomy, it always surprises me to find out that people actually watch the show. The recaps started because of the show’s setting and the potential for seeing our city reflected through the pretty lens of Hollywood.

Still, if the recaps aren’t cutting it for you and you can’t get enough of KOMO’s regular incorporation of the show’s plot and characters into its news reports, there’s yet another way for you to get a fix on the comings and goings at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital. For a few minutes a week, you can have people from the show whispering sweet advertainment in your ears by subscribing to the Grey’s Anatomy podcast [iTMS]. It’s a brand new feature; so there’s only one so far. It features Kate Walsh (Addison Shepherd, a.k.a. the woman who keeps Grey and Patrick Dempsey from living happily ever after) and Executive Producer Jim Parriott talking about the episode that aired after the Super Bowl.

No, we will not be providing a recap.

Grey’s Anatomy Recap: Code Black! Seahawks Lose Super Bowl! (season 2, episode 16)

take that nicolette sheridan. grey’s anatomy appeals to the superbowl demographic

Although I think Seattleites would agree that “code black” ought to be the code name for the Seahawks losing the Super Bowl, it actually involves Alex and Izzy getting it on, the Nazi about to give birth, a guest appearance by Christina Ricci, and other events marking The End of the World as We Know It (Part 1) . . .

grey’s anatomy recap: walking the line (season2, episode 15)

{Note: O.K. Ducklings, I’m out of town; so tonight’s recap comes to you by way of Ellen, a onetime Seattleite who’s funnier, more timely, and has better grammar than your usual recapper; so do your best to be extra nice to her!}

Previously: Bailey pregnant, Meredith is the only one who can see her
mother, the dog, Izzy as underwear model, unhappy nurses.

Narration: In surgery, there’s a red line on the floor that marks the point
where the hospital goes from being accessible to being off limits to all but
a special few. Crossing the line unauthorized is not tolerated.

Shot:
Nurses striking.

[More: An episode about lines, but refreshingly not too heavy handed and
only involving 3 patients, a new Nazi who turns out to be the anti-Nazi, a
musical Burke, and secrets about Izzy revealed . . . ]

grey’s anatomy recap: hospital of lies (season 2, episode 14)

ga_s2e14_hotdog_01212006.jpg

It’s another week of Grey’s Anatomy [abc], now with more Golden Globe winning Sandra Oh!

This week is short on Seattle skyscapes, but is full of little local shout outs, some more misguided than others. There are way too many things going on: a fingerless guitar player stars in an afterschool special, George meets a flirty old lady who bolsters his Irish confidence, labor politics ensue, Bailey is forced to face the reality of the infant growing in her uterus, Alex gets an envelope, Japanese competitive eaters descend upon Seattle, Isabel and George stand their ground over the out of control dog situation, Sandra Oh and Meredith engage in a bit of deception. That’s because the episode theme today is LIES. Hammer anyone?

After the jump, the full report on the latest at Seattle Grace.

grey’s anatomy recap: new year, new rules, same dog (season 2, episode 13)

sidekicking it in ’06, Meredith sets her away message.

Yesterday brought the first actual new episode of Grey’s Anatomy[abc] of 2006. Although I was too busy recovering from the first two hours of the two day four hour premiere of 24, I managed to watch the episode this morning in order to assist your post-M.L.K. Birthday water cooler converstations on the comings and going at Seattle’s favorite fictional hospital.

After the jump, find out what happens when three busy interns adopt a dog, the results of an 80-hour workweek, the consequences of eating your art, the possibilities of personal revelation afforded by a heart-seeking daytrip to Idaho, and things you find when you go looking for a tumor. Plus — the interns cope with time off, the Elevator remains that hottest meetup spot in Seattle Grace Hospital, and Meredith’s forgetful mother isn’t quite forgotten.

grey’s anatomy non-recap : just because it’s new to you doesn’t mean it’s new to me (season 2, episode 12.5)

Your TV Guide might have made you think that there was a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on tonight. But right from the beginning, we can tell that we are in for something a little different. The voiceover isn’t Meredith’s typical dewy whispering in our ears, but a more avuncular voice (possibly the owner of Joe’s bar), but still full of lessons. Lessons about how to turn a bunch of re-runs into a new episode by just gluing a bunch of them together into a clip show. Ah look how young and naive all of our favorite interns were just a season ago!

Well, they’re not tricking me. If you want to get “straight to the heart” of what’s happened over the course of the past twenty-something episodes, you know where to start [mb]. Ah, how young and naive we all were before we knew what a monster we were creating.

This is probably as good a time as any to mention that I’ll be out of the country for much of February and March; so if anyone’s interested in trying out for fill-in Grey’s Anatony duty, drop an e-mail to seattle.metblogs (at) gmail.com and maybe we’ll set up tryouts.

grey’s anatomy recap : family’s just another name for depressing suicide prevention device (season 2, episode 12)

gas2e12_12112005.jpg

This week’s it’s holiday time on Grey’s Anatomy [abc]. Isabel and her patient are tuned in to the magic of the season. George gets stuck coping with the most ulcer-causing family in existence. Sandra Oh and Chief Wannabe #2 learn a lot about each other as a result of a heart transplant. On top of all of that, Meredith helps Alex study for his boards, Bailey’s pregnancy takes its toll, and McDempsey and AddiSatan aren’t on the same page w/r/t to catalog shopping.

The detailed recap is after the jump.

grey’s anatomy recap : eleanor rigby is not an island (season 2, episode 11)

gas2e11_12052005.jpg

This week, on another thrilling episode of Grey’s Anatomy, we find out what happened to all of those patients from last week [mb]. The fate of the five little quintfants and Old Yeller are revealed, and for good measure we pick up two brand new cases. George gets a new age hiker who needs an old timey cure and Sandra Oh delves into the finer points of compassion for the incarcerated. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s all of the fallout from Alex’s infidelity and more of that unrequited (and otherwise) puppy love that we’ve come to expect. After the jump, the long format recap is yours for the reading!

grey’s anatomy recap : too much sexual healing? (season 2, episode 10)

gas2e10_11272005.jpg

Once again, it’s another new episode of Grey’s Anatomy [abc].

After the jump, play-by-play tour of the episode featuring a whole lot of loving, a key-induced existential crisis, a one night stand that results in maybe the most mentions of an erect penis in primetime history, something about a thirsty tumor, and a quintuplet storyline that will carry over into next week’s episode!
