Novemberwatch: Office Nomads

November 1st will mark the opening of Office Nomads, Jacob Sayles and Susan Evans’ vision for coworking. (Full disclosure: Jacob and Susie are people I know.)

“A party of one is free to go wherever they choose, and pursue any avenue they please. No compromises need to be made, and dreams do not need to be diluted to fit into some greater vision. But by shedding the company, the community was also lost. Coffee shops tried to fill the void, but unreliable wifi and mid day mom & baby conventions made it difficult to be productive. One more step is needed. We must band together to regain our community, yet retain our individuality. It is now time to move into the age of the office nomad.”

Basically, what they’re trying to do is make a space where contractors and other people who usually work at home (or at a coffee shop) can be in the same place and yet independent. A monthly membership is $475, which includes a desk, internet, fax, printer, meeting rooms, and a group of people to talk to around the water cooler.

They’ll be having a reception from 6 - 9 on November 1st. They’re located on 1617 Boylston Ave.
