Talking chocolate
I’m not a huge fan of chocolate (although I probably won’t say no if you offer it to me), or of sweets in general. But I am very fond of enthusiasm, and Chocolate Speak is into chocolate. It’s a pretty detailed list of local chocolatiers and local stores that sell high-end chocolate, and it’s pretty impressive. Did you know that there is a chocolate factory in Issaquah made to look like a village in the Swiss Alps? Because I sure didn’t, and I’m a little mad at you for not mentioning it. I’m also a little amazed that olive oil truffles exist, and now I’m really craving some salted caramels.
I’m pretty charmed by the effort, frankly, and it gives you an easy geographical reference if you want to buy your favorite Metrobloggers truffles based on the results of our taste-off [mb]. So everyone wins! Actually, what I find most interesting is the Seattle-based, internet-only Russian truffle-maker who wants to make the world’s best truffles out of local ingredients–which might be just ambitious enough to be pretty excellent.
It’s hard to say how you would go about letting the author know of new resources, but you could probably leave her a comment if there was a gem of a chocolate shop that she hasn’t yet discovered.
