This Thursday marks the much-celebrated monthly First Thursday Art Walk in Seattle for art aficionados and curious-ones alike.

The admission to participating museums in the city and art galleries in the area are FREE every first Thursday of the month to celebrate current exhibits and exhibition openings, as well as viewing new works of rising local artists in our city. The First Thursday Art Walk is a must-attend event for art enthusiasts and admirers to mingle in the art social scene and bask in its creative surrounding.

My recommended Art Walk route:
. Begin your fabulous art walk for the Free First Thursdays at the Wing Luke Asian Museum (7th Avenue, off Jackson Street) in Seattle’s historic Chinatown/International District to view the Museum’s nationally recognized award-winning community-based exhibitions and educational public programs and learn more about the art, culture and history of Asian Pacific Americans. Wing Luke Asian Museum hours on Thursdays are 11:00 am-4:30 pm.

. Then walk over to Kobo at Higo on Jackson Street off 6th Avenue, in the International District, to check out and shop for some of their swell arts & crafts.

. Head down to the Pioneer Square neighborhood and stroll over to the quaint Occidental Park for the First Thursday Art in the Park to explore and support the work of emerging independent artists and hip local arts and crafts vendors for creatively fantastic one-of-a-kind funky finds, enjoy live street music and mingle with the community.

. Then visit the local art galleries and independent artists studios in the Pioneer Square neighborhood for their terrific new shows featuring many local artists’ works.

. Continue your art hike exploration at the Seattle Art Museum for free admission on First Thursdays, to view their fascinating collections and special exhibitions. Afterwards, savor a glass of wine (or two) to celebrate your First Thursday artsy merriment!

Come out and join us to bask in the art, admire many creative works, oooh and ahh to all the good stuff, drool in awe, and be inspired. Take part in all of the fun and festivities! All for the love of art!

The First Thursday Art Walk is open to the public and welcome to all.
