Cherry Blossom Photographers
Surely no event heralds the advent of Spring as does the annual blossoming of Yoshino Cherry Tree Blossom Photographers on the UW campus. The warm weather encourages these tender tidings of nature’s bounty to emerge from their winter hibernation and spring forth onto the Quad, enlivening for an all-too-brief instant the brick paths and stone buildings with their colorful presence.

The Photographers bloomed early this year — no doubt due to the unseasonably clement temperatures — and one fears that their precocious emergence has doomed them to an all-too-short existence.

Will they survive the inevitable cold snap, or will they freeze to their tripods and drop, lifeless, to litter paths as they slowly return to the earth of which they are made?
