SIFF Awards Buzz series continues tonight, Sunday
Zac Efron is doing his best to avoid being typecast as that kid from High School Musical. To that end, he took on a starring role in Me and Orson Welles in which he plays a young actor who talks theater director Welles into giving him a role in Julius Caesar on Broadway. Christian McKay co-stars as Welles and Claire Danes (who knows a thing or two about portraying high school students herself) appears as the production assistant of Efron’s dreams. Me and Orson Welles screens tonight at 7 pm at SIFF Cinema as part of its Awards Buzz Series.
The series concludes on Sunday, December 13th at 3:30pm with another potential Oscar(tm) contender starring a young actor: The Young Victoria featuring Emily Blunt in the title role.
Tickets for either screening are a mere $10 each.
