7:30 PM – Lyanda Lynn Haupt: Crow Planet: Finding Our Place in the Zoopolis
Elliott Bay Book Co.
A couple of years ago, a juvenile crow got stuck in my chimney. We called the appropriate state agency, which put us in contact with A Guy. Said Guy was able to free the bird, since named Sooty. Sooty still lives in my neighborhood, although I think Sooty’s parents have moved on. I’ve become rather fond of my feral extended family. Anyway, the point of this little diversion is that even urbanites live within a matrix of wild flora and fauna, the web of life, the food chain in action, et cetera… so, go; listen to Haupt; buy the book; read the book.
