Well, ok, technically, I couldn't go to an empty house because, well, then it wouldn't be empty.

I've been to a few half full houses, how about that? =)

Midnight showings were the prime examples.

And yeah, Coppola, Lee, opener and closer, those are the ones you can guess will sell out right away. Any major kids movie that hasn't been released yet (Monster House) is likely to sell out.

Interestingly (or not) enough, John, I've never actually been to an empty house at a SIFF film. I mean, sure, they haven't all been SRO sell outs, but I've never been to a film that's not at least mostly full. Of course this may be a reflection of the sorts of movies that interest me or not.

I'm willing to bet that there will be a rush for tickets for Coppola and Lee.

"tickets go fast"

... Well... except when they don't =)

I've been to my share of empty houses as well as full. Which makes early purchasing even more essential, sure, because you never know what will and won't sell out.

Ok, sure, some things you can guess are going to sell out right away.
