I assure you this is not at all a rip-off of the 826 project as there's was a growing competition, and this is a showing competition. Fundraising is done in an entirely different way for each event and both events support a very worthy cause.

This is at least the second year of this event so it's not like they saw 826's event last year and decided to copy them then; even if they did, so what? They're events held for good causes at different times of the year.

There are several dozens, maybe even hundreds (it sure seems like it, anyway), of fundraising races and walks in the Seattle area. Are they are "ripping off" each other? Is it "a shame" that there are multiple groups trying to race money to fight more than one disease?

I'm not affiliated with either group myself, but I know a pointlessly petty comment when I see one.

Treehouse seems like a great organization but this smells to me like a huge ripoff of 826's Mustache-A-Thon. http://www.826mustaches.blogspot.com/ Seems a shame to dip your toes into another nonprofit's fundraising pool. (Disclaimer - I am not affiliated with either group, nor do I sport facial hair.)
