With the constant dusting of snow on Capitol Hill combined with relatively pleasant temperatures, bitter winds arriving elsewhere, closed streets, and plenty of nearby bars (including a spilling-out-of-the-doors, freshly opened Bus Stop) as warming stations, Denny below Bellevue is a sledding block party likely to continue well into the night. People are queuing up with toboggans, borrowed signs, laundry baskets, found scraps of cardboard, real snowboards, repurposed wind surfboards, and dismantled bumpers.
