Night one of the KEXP Benefit went off without any snow or seasonal songs, but there were a few surprises to go along with Jeff Montano’s ultra-holiday sweatshirt. The Dutchess and the Duke helped a guy propose to his girl, Santa and his skimpily-clad elves gave away a pair of Zunes, Shearwater’s drummer played some sort of wearable handmade junkyard dulcimer, and Jenn Ghetto joined Grand Archives for a song while they alternated between stuff from their self-titled album and previewed a whole bunch of new material.
