it’s music voting time

As if we didn’t already have enough fun voting in 2008, it’s time to make your well-informed voices heard in matters musical. In particular, a couple of local institutions want to know what you liked best this year. With that, get thee to the online voting booths:

  • KEXP is polling listeners for their overall favorites of the year. The top 91 (or rather, 90.3) will be the playlist for the first day of 2009; so choose carefully. You don’t want to recover from New Year’s Eve festivities with bad music, do you? BTW, you might have to write-in some albums — Girl Talk, Mount Eerie, and Foals are surprisingly absent from the checkboxes.  [kexp]
  • Three Imaginary Girls want to know your favorite “Northwest” music from 2008. Careful, if your nomination isn’t from the Northwest (whatever that means) it will be canned. [tig]

Sound on the Sound (who are in the midst of recounting their favorite photos) reminds us that Stereogum readers have already spoken, joining magalogs across the world by crowning local boys Fleet Foxes the Gummiest Band of the whole year. [stereogum] Anyone want to take bets on which artists will top these lists?
