I'm still curious as to why there are protests for a law that passed in California in states outside of California. It boggles the mind.

Wait, did I miss the part where it suddenly became legal for same sex couples to wed in Washington?

Because otherwise I'm not sure why Washingtonians are supposed to be protesting another state's law. Why protest California's failure to allow gay marriage instead of protesting our own state's failure to allow same sex marriage?

How is Arizona's rejection of same sex marriage more important than Oregon's? How does being unable to be married in Arkansas change anything for that couple who can't get married in Idaho?

Protest? Protest what?

We're supposed to protest that citizens voices were heard and their ballots counted?

We're supposed to protest that states' rights are applicable?

We're supposed to protest the more than 40 states who now have constitutional bans or laws against same-sex marriages, as voted by the people of the United States?

We're supposed to be enraged at California, arguably the most liberal state in the Union, who passed Proposition 8 by 4%?

Seriously? If McCain supporters marched through downtown "protesting" the election of Barack Obama, you'd scoff and call them fools.

...as a conservative Seattleite, I'm too often reminded of my favorite quote by Robert Frost: "A liberal is a man too broadminded to take his own side in a quarrel."

However, it's your right to protest as afforded by law. I'm not telling you not to protest, I'm just curious what you're protesting.
