Veterans

Happy Veterans’ Day and thank to you any of our readers who happens to be a vet.

Anyone who has the time today might want to check out any of the many Veterans’ Day activities going on around town. The Seattle P-I has a handy list [1] which includes events at MOHAI, The Museum of Flight, the Seattle Veterans Museum, Paine Field and the Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park.

If you’ve got ongoing time that you’d like to volunteer, you might consider calling the Fisher House or the local VA and asking them what you can do to help.

Banks and courts are closed today, so’s the library and all public schools. The Post Office won’t deliver mail today and, of course, all other government offices are closed. Most Metro routes are on regular schedule as are Pierce Transit, Sound Transit and Community Transit bus routes. The Sounder has a modified holiday schedule; the ferries are on the regular schedule.
