celebrate veterans with the breeders

The Breeders, Kim Deal’s on-again off-again Pixies offshoot project that reached mainstream fame levels with 1993′s Last Splash, spent some of the warmer months of this year blowing out afternoon festival mainstages, dashing off to the UK, and touring behind freshly-minted Mountain Battles. Their fall schedule finds them back in the northwest and in generously more intimate settings. I saw them in the great outdoors and am sad to be out of town to have my eardrums tickled up-close. They’ll be making a stop here at Neumo’s along with Panda and Angel and Black Whales on Tuesday.
Tickets are $25 [neumos], but you and a friend can cap off your celebration of Veterans and the Armistice for free. Send an e-mail to seattle.metblogs at gmail.com with your full name and you’ll be entered to win. No purchase or cleverness required, but fun facts about presidential pets might improve your chances.
Update: thanks for all the fun facts; I picked a winner at the end of the day. Were you aware about Martin Van Buren and his tiger cubs?
