Happy Voting Day!

Waiting to vote in Ballard, dropped in our Flickr pool by Punk Jr
It was my original plan to leave work early this afternoon and vote then but as I was leaving the house this morning I impulsively walked over to my Capitol Hill polling place to get my morning vote on instead. I had a feeling that there might be more than the usual small handful of in-person voters, but I wasn’t expecting a polling place so crowded that people were using any surface they could–desks, tables, walls and windows included–to fill out their ballots. If you wanted an actual voting booth, you’d have to wait as they were all full with a line forming behind them. I thought this was pretty awesome and I’m glad to hear that this is happening at other polling places as well.
Good job, Seattle voters–now can we please have this kind of voter turnout for every election?
