Dino Rossi does not like English teachers?
Over the weekend I received my permanent absentee ballot (I love how you can be “permanent absentee” and still live in town).
When I reached the governor’s race, I saw Dino Rossi’s “prefers GOP party,” an affiliation he went to court to keep on the ballot.
But, wait a second. GOP = Grand Old Party, therefore Dino Rossi prefers the Grand Old Party party? Isn’t that just a little redundant? And also, isn’t he repeating himself? And as well, isn’t he saying the same word twice?
Does Dino Rossi hate English teachers?
I will note that the other Republican on my ballot to list himself as a Republican By Another Name, 46th LD candidate John Sweeney, listed himself as “Prefers Grand Old Party.”

So bizarre that you wrote this now….
I have an English degree and I live in Vancouver, BC. Last night I was studying my Washington Voter book and I said the SAME EXACT THING to my husband - "How redundant! He’s in the Grand Old Party party!".
(Hi Dylan!)
that drove me crazy, too. I’m sure he also frequently visits the ATM machine.
And when he’s there, I bet he enters his PIN number.
