Bank robber turns himself in

Times are hard for almost everyone right now, and that probably includes bank robbers–it’s hard to steal what the banks don’t have. This weekend a 28-year-old man suspected of seven bank holdups and at least one pharmacy job called 911 from a pay phone and turned himself in [PI], making all of us safe from one more criminal.

“[His] picture, taken from a bank surveillance camera, was given to the Seattle P-I and other news media last month. Last week, Tacoma police identified the man and released his mug shot.

The FBI believes that on Sept. 12 he robbed a Seattle Sound Community Bank and on Sept. 28, a pharmacy. On Sept. 30, he is believed to have robbed the Washington Federal Savings in Seattle, and then two days later, a Bellevue U.S. Bank. The FBI believes he also is responsible for two Tacoma robberies, a Puyallup robbery and an Oct. 11 robbery at a Washington Mutual bank near Seattle Center, the FBI reported.”

Who robs a bank these days and doesn’t wear a mask so that they don’t get caught on the surveillance cameras? Sadly, this particular bank robber does not appear to have earned himself a clever nickname, which makes the news a lot less splashy than it could have been.
