Samantha and I have similar feelings except that you can remove the "probably" for me. I'm willing to suffer a bit of cutesyness for the sake of my food--like the way MAD Pizza is "committed" to their food--but this has overwhelmed my cutesy threshold.

Samantha,

Yes, it's like going to a place that has "appe-teasers". I think their slogan should be: "It's 'zaw-l good."

I like the idea, but the cutesy names for things make me cringe so badly that I probably won't ever go there.

I've always thought Papa Murphy's was a great business strategy: almost no overhead, no ovens - can be any any cheap strip mall space, cheap ingredients, low skill employees... The result being an inexpensive pizza yet high profit potential. It sounds like they're copying the strategy, but making the ingredients higher quality. This will eat into their operating expenses, but will fit the market better and will allow them to charge more.

I'll certainly go there the next time I get a take and bake (rarely, but it happens).

hmmm, i think i'm confused by this place. is it like one of those fondue joints where you do all the work and pay them for the hot plate? or is it like fuddruckers where you add everything and they cook it for you? is this a restaurant or just a pizza store?

i guess i'll have to check it out just to see for myself, but i think i much rather buy the dough at trader joe's and put my fresh veggies from my csa on top of it. easier, more fun to make and maybe even cheaper.

Intriguing, for sure, and I would definitely give it a whirl if it were in my neck of the woods. But their marketing leaves something to be desired, for sure. Appeti-zaw??? Gag me with a spoon. If they just called it an appetizer, I'd be more likely to try it out, I think. But I don't go to Cap Hill to get food (take-and-bake, take-out, groceries, etc.), so I'm probably not their target market. And they do sound like they have a good concept, despite the made-up words.

I've been waiting for this place to open for ages, but didn't realize the extent of the concept. Can't wait to give it a go...maybe this Saturday. Thanks for the writeup!
