How to book a cabin for a large group.
It’s actually not all that difficult. About 15 of us decided we wanted a relaxing weekend in a cain, and we thought booking now would be best. Oh, and were we right.
Basically, if you want to stay near Stevens Pass or Mount Rainier start looking right now. Or 10 minutes ago. Or 10 days ago. They are booking up fast.
My best source has been VRBO.
This site is fast, reliable and the staffing agents don’t hate me when I ask 10 million questions that are probably answered in the FAQ’s portion of the cabin’s site.
Be prepared to have 3-5 options to give to your group. Not all have hot tubs. Not all have fireplaces. And some won’t budge on the limit of people you can bring. The good thing is there are a lot of rich folks out there with awesome cabins and if you get enough people, you can stay in their fancy homes for what it costs to stay at a Days Inn. Maybe even less.
My only problem was with Three Bears Lodge. Everything was looking good. My group said yes, the dates matched up and I was on the phone giving them my card. After not getting a confirmation I got worried and emailed them. A few hours after that they called to say they had double booked and we’re so sorry and blah blah blah. After 2 weeks of emailing them, they just now realized this pretty big mistake and in my opinion that’s just unprofessional. While it looks like an amazing place, I doubt I’ll ever give them my business. Be forewarned.
Sidenote:
This is my first blog in quite some time. And Josh reminded me that I’m a slacker and I realized I actually kinda sorta missed you guys. Really though, I’ve just been way too busy with summer, Seattle and beyond.
Happy trails.
