I’ve been considering starting an Edmonds blog, though I did finally find one the other day written by a couple real estate agents up here… http://edmonds.neighborhoodsundressed.com/ Other than that, I haven’t found any blogs that cover Snohomish County. I live in North Beach, but when I’m thinking about where to go for restaurants, shopping, art, drinking, or entertainment, usually I think of Ballard or Greenwood, so I read both the My Ballard and PhinneyWood blogs regularly. It’s very residential up here, with the only eats being Cafe Fiore and Esperanaza’s, and no local shops at all. I even refer to my neighborhood as "North Ballard" for purposes of talking to people who haven’t heard of the neighborhoods up here.

Huh – I’m north of 85th and have always considered myself a Greenwood resident. In fact, half of Greenwood’s "main drag" is north of 85th. Maybe it’s getting up into Broadview a bit, but I’ve always thought Greenwood extended up to at least 105th. Of course, my opinion isn’t based on any sort of official municipal boundaries or anything. But Greenwood Blog seems to think so, too (check out their title page).

The problem with the MyZip project, to me, was how they covered the 98103 zip code, which extends from Ship Canal to 105th St. It encompasses parts of Fremont, Wallingford, Tangletown, Phinney Ridge, Greenwood, Green Lake, Licton Springs, and Oaktree.

100% of the articles on 98103.net covered Fremont. Nothing about anything north of there (or even much about Wallingford).

Meanwhile, the north of the city shares zip codes with Shoreline — so under a MyZip type regime, does 98133 cover Aurora/Bitter Lake/Haller Lake or the Shoreline CBD?

You can’t really use zip codes in Seattle for this sort of stuff.

There was the short-lived MyZip project that had some North Seattle representation, but now that it's gone, it's back to the void. I just bailed out on Northgate and am now in Kent, and the coverage seems to be about the same down here -- all I've been able to find so far is the life_in_kent LiveJournal, which is pretty low in traffic.

I second jared on the nothing within walking distance thing. That and the lack of sidewalks. Gotta have sidewalks. Now, south of 75th and in between 15th and 25th NE, I'm doing my best to blog what is blogable. Ravenna-Eckstein playground dedication tonight! Woo hoo!

i live on 130th & greenwood, in a condo complex full of 20-somethings, and routinely go down into Greenwood to do things because there is nothing up here within walking distance. i guess the library is right there…
