The Election Show

The Election Show

Just in time for what’s sure to be the most hotly contested Presidential election since the last one, Wing-It Productions presents the Election Show 2008, an “unscripted” play created and directed by John Boyle and Douglas Willott in which the audience votes a winner after an improvised primary, series of debates, attack ads, and scandals, all based on audience suggestions.

To keep it funny, the show doesn’t use any real political parties, issues, or candidates; instead, the show uses its own, all chosen by the audience. Since real-life politics can be a drag and the average American voter often feels frustrated by the process, the Election Show is a great way to laugh at the process without turning the real thing into any more of a farce than it already is.

The Election Show is suitable for both children and adults; it opens Thursday, September 4, at the University Theater (5510 University Way) on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm from the 4th through the 19th and then again from October 2 – 24. There will be a special Election Night Election Show on Tuesday, November 4 at 8pm for those of you who just can’t get enough voting.
