Upcoming Outdoor Movies

Tired of watching movies in a dark, cavernous theater? Already saw “Dark Knight” for the third time? Why not check out one of these outdoor movies?

  • Fremont Outdoor Movies:  “Hairspray”; Saturday, August 23, 7:30 p.m.; $5 donation; on the corner of 35th and Phinney Avenue North. www.fremontoutdoormovies.com.
  • West Seattle Movies on the Wall: “Galaxy Quest”; Saturday, August 23, 8:30 p.m.; Parking lot of 4410 California Ave. S. This is the final movie of the summer for the “Movies on the Wall” series.
  • Eastlake Film Festival and Picnic: “The Princess Bride”; Friday, August 29, 7:00 p.m.; Rogers Play Field, 117 East Louisa, PMB #1. Hosted by The Eastlake Community Council.

Of course, if the “do-it-yourself theater” doesn’t cut it for you, and you long for the old school drive-in with its double features and steamy car windows, there’s always The Valley Drive-In in Auburn.
