I have a question
And my question, dear Metblogs readers, is this: why, do you think, would someone nail two baby shoes with sharpied hearts on them to a telephone pole on Fairview, not particularly near an intersection? I passed these today on my walk home from brunch, and I’m honestly baffled. They’re about five feet off the ground, and they don’t appear to be a memorial of any sort. They’re the only ones on the street. Weird.

Something to do with the Hemingway story?
Holy crap, I saw another pair of those on Bellevue (?) somewhere between Olive and Pine (in that general area anyway). It was so creepy seeing little baby shoes just stuck on a pole.
Someone’s having a little "art project".
Really? That *is* weird.
It’s a memorial for a toddler who got run over by Critical Mass riders and then mauled by a pit bull.
I saw some on Bellevue between Pike and Pine yesterday and two young men taking pictures of them. I don’t know if the dudes were related to the shoes or not tho.
