Our guide was Mike Arnold, though he's a lawyer and owns the boat himself, so you may have seen him around. The Skykomish part that you referenced is actually right where we camp during the summer, and we've wanted to raft down that for ages but never had the motivation. I believe we will definitely check it out next spring.

I am completely addicted to it after this one trip, so I'll definitely drag others out with me!

Nice post. I've been running the White Salmon and Husum falls for almost 8 years both as a commercial guide and privately. If you enjoyed the class IV whitewater action, I'd highly recommend running the Skykomish outside of Gold Bar in the spring or early summer. It definitely has a high "pucker factor". If you were looking to get out a little earlier, The Tieton is a dam-released run that is at peak flows in the month of September.

Your boat looks familiar, but the last time I was on the White Salmon was July 20th. In fact, there's some video of our group that day on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrHOIYvZFoY and a video of a former colleague flipping that I took: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUvc4elVj_s

Glad you enjoyed it! We need more people to know about this amazing activity that anyone can do!
