Tonight in music

Last year while digitizing our music collections onto one hard drive (barfy or sweet, you decide), my boyfriend and I discovered that we only had one single cd in common. I tell you this only to illustrate how patient and awesome he is when I drag him out to shows. For instance, TIG’s Liz Phair tribute (which, of course, rocked) is not in his wheelhouse at all and yet he uncomplainingly accompanied me and fetched me beers while I reminisced in the glory that is Exile in Guyville.

This, of course, happens all the time (hello, Harry and the Potters [1] tomorrow). And so as payback, we will be attending the Judas Priest [2] show this evening. I am both excited and a little frightened. This will be my first full fledged metal show as well as my first time at WaMu Theater. Will they kick me out for not wearing a black t-shirt (let alone leather chaps)? Am I going to spend all of my money on overpriced cheap beer?

And more importantly, just how many people will be there to stalk lead singer, Rob Halford [slj [3]]? Oh Seattle LJ, I’m unsure if I should be concerned or amused. Shall we start a pool on whether or not he finds him?

w/ Testament, All Ages, 7:30 PM, $49-$79
