I was beginning to wonder if Death Cab for Cutie had something against us. Bumbershoot ^[1] was about the only big summer festival where they didn’t have a prominent spot on the bill. At last, with the latest round of updates to Seattle Center’s Labor Day extravaganza, the situation has been remedied. The band will get its shot at possessing local hearts. Just a couple days after Bumbershoot closes, our pals in Portland are throwing a party of their own. Challenging our own beloved festival in size (and, most notably, price [ed: don't forget, there's more to bumbershoot than music]), they’ve announced a four-day, fifty-dollar event that will be running from 3 to 6 September. Once you see the lineup, catching the train down to Portland on Tuesday for Music Fest Northwest ^[3] seems like a great idea:
