Behind The Scenes

I took this picture this morning at the Race For The Cure that Erin was running. As I was watching the last of the first wave start the race, I realized that I was about 15 feet away from Jean Enersen interviewing Christine Gregoire live on TV. Fun!

Jean must have skedaddled before the 5K walk. Since K5 is a sponsor, in years gone by, either she or Lori Matsukawa would be up on the truck at the start line yelling "go" and cheering the walkers as they pass .. this morning, all we got were two overly perky nondescript (radio?) people. Great crowd and great event though. I keep wondering how many more times, with all the work coming up, we’ll get to walk on the carless Viaduct, so that’s worth the price of admission alone, separate from the important cause.

She was up on top of the van and called out the start of the women’s only 5k (the first race) but got down after that. It was a pretty fun event though, with lots of good energy. Also, access to Qwest Field’s field level is awesome!
