You know it’s bad when even Gawker readers think that Slog commenters are too mean. [gawker] The simultaneously best/worst/most telling part of Chelsea Alvarez-Bell’s goodbye letter to the Stranger’s weblog [slog] was how quickly the comments section was flooded with people, mostly anonymously, praising their own inhumane online behavior.

update: the plot thickens. Tim Keck bribed Alvarez-Bell to return the tune of $1 per comment, (or $204 for more abuse). [slog]

    Did you see Chelsea’s latest post? She received $1 for every comment before 4pm!

    As a Gawker regular, I must say Slog commenters are waaaaay more fearsome.
