Pacifico beer first became known in the US when West Coast surfers would head down to catch the waves in Baja California and brought the beer back home with them. In association with their Seattle-based ad agency, Creature, Pacifico commissioned a series of artists to create unique hand painted designs for a fleet of VW vans that will visit bars, markets, and restaurants around the country to raise awareness of the brand.

Over a dozen of these vans were painted by Seattle artists, so be on the lookout for them when you’re out having a brew. I really like these kind of promotions that manage to combine advertising and art and I think it’s cool that this sort of work is coming from Seattle.

    These are cool.

I also like how you put yourself in the photo. (Unless the photo was taken by someone else…)

It’s not me in the photo, Julia, but I HAVE accidentally put myself in photos in the past.

I get the whole surfers/VW’s/Pacifico connection, but it’s too bad they couldn’t have gone with something a little more fuel-efficient (speaking as a VW Type II owner myself).
