low tide on the internet

Puget Sound sunk to new lows yesterday and several waterside weblogs grabbed some photos of people enjoying the chance to enjoy the beach with a little less water than usual. In West Seattle, glimpses of starfish clinging for their lives and stony expanses at Lowman Beach [wsb]; Ballard found children frolicking at Golden Gardens as the tide receded to -4.3 m [myballard].

update: Seattlest found the stench “overpowering and fantastic” [#]; smell it for yourself today, when it’s only slightly less low.

Nerd’s Eye View also had an excellent post about the low tide :) I’m so excited about all the sea life (can you tell I’m a transplant? My enthusiasm for this stuff knows no bounds)

Thanks for the linky linky. And I’m a LONG term west coast dweller, and I never get tired of the tideland wonders.
