An update: I walked by Molly Moon's again tonight. Scoops are $3.00. Pints are $5.00, and quarts are $8.50.

Toppings (which I've heard are great, but haven't sampled) are $1.00 each. They also had 3 different sundaes, but I didn't see a price for those.

I'm also very happy to report that the scoops looked a lot more "normal" sized than they did during the grand opening. Still not quite as big as Walter's, but they were the size scoops that you'd find at your average ice cream shop.

was slyvie supposed to be me? i said those same exact things in our little chats.

i thought all of the flavors left a bad taste in my mouth. even afterwards, i couldn't get that weird filmy, milky, chalky taste out.

I lived in San Francisco for a while and have paid much more for much less (Embarcadero farmers' market comes to mind), so I really don't mind spending the cash if it's worth it. :)

I agree with you on the salted caramel. By itself it was too salty. However, when I had it with the Vivace coffee, the two made a nice mix. The coffee by itself I thought was very good.

I'd be very interested to try a milkshake with 3/4 coffee and 1/4 salted caramel.

Spec, what did you think of the scoop size for the price? I'm curious whether they have gotten any bigger now that they aren't in the middle of opening weekend.

I don't want to get too harsh, but the salted caramel was wayyy too salty and gave an "off" flavor. It didn't taste like Kosher or sea salt to me... more of an iodized tint.

All the way back home, I kept murmuring to myself "I really want to like this, I really, really do."

That being said, the scoop underneath, vivant coffee, was good... but not good enough to make me forget about the caramel.

I'll definitely be back, I *need* them to succeed! :)
