Capitol Hill Block Party?
So, looks like Capitol Hill Block Party is doing it again.
And while the line up seems pretty effin’ awesome, I don’t think I can go through it again.
Let’s go back less than a year ago, when I told my boyfriend that we need to buy tickets so he can rub my ass while I dance to Girl Talk. We spent all day tracking tickets down for the “sold out” Party. We wasted an entire day calling way too many people and finally getting them, and were almost disappointed when we walked through the gates and the stupid girls at the counter never even asked for our hard-earned tickets. We then wasted another 3 hours, waiting in a line at Neumo’s that wasn’t moving. We never got to see Girl Talk. But we did get pushed, and shoved and harrassed by some of the rudest bouncers I’ve ever encountered.
So in the end, I guess I did get my ass rubbed. It just wasn’t from dancing. And most likely not from my boyfriend.
Since then, I have vowed to not waste my time at going to any Block Party’s ever again.

I had a similarly disappointing time trying to get in to see Girl Talk last year (albeit with less ass rubbing). I’m desperately hoping the organizers take a cue from last year and put him on the mainstage this time.

You missed a great show - Girl Talk was awesome, although not as awesome as at Chop Suey. I’m excited to see the mayhem this year. Too bad you had a bad experience, but the Block Party (even with its hassles) is nowhere near as bad as Bumbershoot, and worth dealing with the crowds and lines.
