thursday agenda: pop music conference

emp pop music conference

I already gushed about the EMP’s Pop Music Conference a couple of months ago [mb] and encouraged you to pre-register. Now it’s finally here — starting off with a Zune-sponsored reception at 5:30 and a keynote panel tonight at 7:30 on “Hidden Histories Shaking Up “American” Pop”. Even if you slacked off, didn’t listen to you inner music geek, and failed to send in a registration there is still hope. Like your favorite hair salon, walk-ins are welcome until they hit capacity. How often do you get a chance to see all of your music crit heroes under the same roof?

The conference runs through Sunday morning, with a KEXP presentation of Blue Scholars at lunch on Saturday. As I’ve said before, this is probably the best thing the EMP does all year, so don’t miss checking at least a bit of it out. It’s definitely worth the price of admission!
