You know how we love being at the top of a mostly meaningless poll around these parts, so it’s with great pleasure that I point out this one: according to the Americans for Arts organization, Seattle is #1 for arts-related businesses per capita, and #3 for the number of employees who work for creative organizations.

The report, “Creative Industries 2008: The 50 City Report,” indicates that Seattle ranks No. 8 nationally in the total number of arts business with 4,065 and No. 10 nationally for the total number of employees who work in arts-related businesses with 21,025 [PSBJ].

An “arts-related business” is anything from museums to radio stations to art schools.
