Starbucks to buy Jones Soda

It’s been a time of rapid change for Starbucks. In early January, former CEO Howard Schultz returned with much fanfare. In a few short months, he has introduced many new innovations for Starbucks including the Starbucks Experience (yes, with capital letters), retraining the baristas in how to pull a perfect shot, and purchasing the Clover system of expresso machines. (Yes, expresso, because it is brewed so FAST!)

Today, Schultz announced that Starbucks is buying locally-owned Jones Soda. The news was surprising to many. Last June, Starbucks ceased stocking Jones Soda in stores to make room for more music. Jones Soda recently won the rights to supply soda at Qwest Field for the next 5 years and to become the soda supplier for Alaska and Horizon Airlines.

Jones Soda will release a new flavor of soda for the occasion: Burnt Bean. It should be available in stores by June.

It was an April Fools post. Sorry, it should have been tagged as such by now.
