Sugar Free Peeps Anyone?

Wesa’s post on Peeps made my mouth water and reminded me that my second annual sugar-free Peep hunt is still unfulfilled. Last year, Just Born, maker of Peeps introduced a sugar-free variety. I’ve looked at over a dozen stores for these not-so-diabetic-unfriendly treats and have come up empty. I’ve checked supermarkets, Fred Meyer, and two drug stores. Easter is fast approaching and I’m afraid my quest will go unfulfilled for a second year. So I’m turning to you, Seattle. Help me find sugar-free peeps!

If you’ve seen these elusive treats in the Seattle metropolitan area, please leave a comment!

(Next year I’m just going to break down and order some online.)

The Walgreens at 15th and Market has them and I believe the Bartells on 22nd in Ballard has them too! Although not as good as the original, still pretty tasty, and had I not done a side by side taste test, I may have never known.

BARTELL’S!! They have them on Queen Anne. They’re different than the originals, not as grainy from the sugar coating. More of a sort of coconut textured coating. At first I thought they were weird, but then they grew on me and I kinda like them better! You can’t even tell the difference between the sugar-free marshmallow and the one made with sugar!
    Good luck!

I forgot to post my thanks! We did find them at Bartells in Ballard. My husband devoured all three on Sunday. I tried a bite, and couldn’t really tell they were sugar free. I’m not a peep fan though. Cadbury Eggs are my poison.
