Easter Weekend Evangelicals

It’s almost Easter! Egg hunts, cherry blossoms, and Evangelicals.

No, I’m not talking about the Christian subgenre, but the band (myspace), which is touring with Headlights (myspace) and stopping in at Nectar Sunday night.

Evangelicals sound like “Marvin Gaye meets the Rocky Horror Picture Show,” songwriter Josh Jones said in an interview with Pitchfork. (#) Meanwhile, our own Three Imaginary Girls thought Headlights was among the tightest bands they’d ever seen, after last year’s show at the now-defunct Crocodile. (#)

Unfortunately, finding an Evangelicals video on YouTube is about as difficult as finding an evangelical in Seattle (ok, I jest), but here is Headlights’ “Cherry Tulips” to help convert you.
