Have a taste of the good stuff

“Washington is known throughout the world for the great beers and wines we produce,” says State Senator Jeanne Kohl Welles in an article in the Ballard News Tribune that gives up some really great news:  the Washington state legislature has approved legislation for a pilot project allowing a select number of groceries to offer samples of beer and wine.

The project will last for one year and will take place in 30 grocery stores around the state.  There are some limits - only one tasting a month and only six tastings a year.  Customers can have no more than two 2 oz. samples at a tasting.  Still, it’s a start.

Ooh yes please! As a newcomer to beer and wine (as in, less than a year and a half of enjoying both), I’m still working around to what I like and what I don’t like. Being able to taste before purchase would make it a lot easier.
