Open Mic Night at Starbucks?

So, the other day, I wandered into the Fremont Starbucks to grab a latte, and noticed that tonight, they were having an open mic night. There was even a sign-up sheet and everything. I didn’t go, because I was busy partying with the Metrobloggers over in West Seattle, but I was curious. Did anyone go?

And more importantly, since when did Starbucks start having open mic nights?

I’m sure such a decision is on a franchise-to-franchise basis. I guess this particular Starbucks manager thinks open mic nights can bring people in, even though open mic nights are so 10 years ago ;P
