Blarch Badness 2008: Squirrel Bracket Cancelled

I give up. There’s just so much gaming and governing and finger-pointing that I don’t have a choice, regardless of whether Seattle Bubble already withdrew.

I said if anyone was cheating, I’d throw everyone out. So, everyone in that side is hereby disqualified. The other semifinal on the Coyote side continues, at least for the moment.

Honestly, I don’t feel much like continuing this tournament. This was supposed to be fun, and it’s far from fun now. I can’t deal with the melodrama, or chronological adults acting like a bunch of spoiled kids.

The antics of Lookout Landing have left me embarrassed to say I’m a Mariners fan. And considering the sort of crap the M’s have pulled the last 13 years, it’s awfully hard to get me embarrassed about being an M’s fan.

The antics of Lookout Landing? We didn’t know ballot stuffing was illegal in the previous round (because you didn’t establish any rules governing it), and then in the next round we were actually behind when you shut us down.

clearly Lookout Landing was at complete fault because they only stuffed when others were stuffing

of course LL should be blamed completely for this! that makes all the sense in the world!

I hereby declare myself and the rest of LL the lesser of two (three?) evils.

this is why you should never believe the results of a web poll. they’re merely a measure of fan enthusiasm, not anything resembling science.

Oh, give it a rest, trolls.

Seattle bubble managed to make it through two rounds of voting, fair and square, before you fools came along.

Only polls involving the lookout losers seem to be gamed. I wonder why that is?

Because the opponents had to game to keep up.

    Duh?

I vote that we only allow Florida residents to vote for this bracket.

Well, let us know if you’re canceling it. We just wrote up our first official pitch a couple hours ago but can certainly say "never mind."

I’m not going to defend the actions of those directly involved, but I don’t appreciate you implicating everyone who participates at LL (and that includes me), the rest of whom were above board during this fun/games exercise, for the actions of 2-3 obstinate parties.

Who can trust anything affiliated with Major League Baseball these days! I think we should have a Congressional hearing to get to the bottom of this!

The majority of the participating blogs were very mature and professional about this rather informal contest. It’s sad to see that a few bad eggs had to prove their immaturity and ruin things for the rest of the fans.

I think it’s time to close this post to comments.

I’m going to have to agree with Ryan. No sense beating a dead horse. It’s not like there can be a comment that will change anyone’s mind.

I’d like to see a response from Dylan first.

Let it go. It’s not a big deal.

  16. David J Corcoran (unregistered) February 29th, 2008 10:57 pm

It is a big deal, but it’s not like any of us in ANY of the three involved blogs knew it wasn’t coming. There’s no reason to be upset about it at all.

You clearly have a lot to learn, Jeff.

    Try again.

    Mommy, daddy, please stop fighting.
