Mud Bay is awesome! I like that they give out free samples, they work great for treats! I would suggest just about any of the local small pet stores. They all seem super friendly and knowledgeable. Manny the Dog and I go to Urban Beast in South Lake Union (right across from REI) whenever we are in the area, otherwise it's a small local place here in Woodinville that I can't remember the name of.

I like Mud Bay a lot and I also like the Crown Hill Pet Supply on Holman Road. http://www.crownhillpet.com/

They carry California Natural brand food, which my kitty loves and is surprisingly affordable compared to Wellness, which is the other brand I feed her. They have a great selection of treats, too, especially dog treats.

+1 for Mud Bay. I'd been going to the one in the UVillage for quite a while to get The World's Best Cat Litter (it really is) until I moved closer to Greenwood.

Now that we've got a puppy on the way we discovered that the breeder gets the food (Eagle Pack) she feeds her dogs from Mud Bay because it's natural and people grade food.

Also, if you're looking for a decent place to get supplies online, try www.petedge.com. I'll certainly go local for food and the occasional toy but for the price of one toy retail you can get a sack of em shipped to you. If you've got a chewy puppy that can mean quite a bit of scrilla saved.

I have to put in an endorsement for Great Dog in Northgate (www.gogreatdog.com). They provide daycare, training, pet supplies, grooming and overnight care. Also a locally owned business and instrumental in getting the City of Seattle to update its zoning laws to account for doggie daycares.

Mud Bay on Thomas near Broadway is awesome. The people who work there have to be some of the friendliest people in retail in Seattle. I'm always happy when my dog runs out of food or needs another toy because I get to make the trek over there. Seriously.

(How's that for some ham-fisted shilling?)
