I would suggest just about any of the local small pet stores. They all seem super friendly and knowledgeable. Manny the Dog and I go to Urban Beast in South Lake Union (right across from REI) whenever we are in the area, otherwise it's a small local place here in Woodinville that I can't remember the name of. I'd been going to the one in the UVillage for quite a while to get The World's Best Cat Litter (it really is) until I moved closer to Greenwood. Now that we've got a puppy on the way we discovered that the breeder gets the food (Eagle Pack) she feeds her dogs from Mud Bay because it's natural and people grade food. Also, if you're looking for a decent place to get supplies online, try www.petedge.com. I'll certainly go local for food and the occasional toy but for the price of one toy retail you can get a sack of em shipped to you. If you've got a chewy puppy that can mean quite a bit of scrilla saved. +1 for Mud Bay.
