Raising prices

Metro is raising their fare prices by a quarter effective March 1, 2008. Here is a link to the new fare prices. The prices are closer to matching Sound Transit now, and I’m not sure what effects this will have for irregular passengers. Will it deter people from using the Park and Rides? Hard to say.

Also raising prices: USPS will add a penny onto the price of stamps, effective May 12th, 2008. A First-Class Mail stamp will be 42 cents and the other price changes are here.

Damn USPS! Seems like they raise the cost of stamps every six months. Since I don’t send that much I always have stamps left over when they change the price so often, so I end up using too much postage since I don’t want to waste the stamps and go buy new ones. I think this year if I have to pay taxes I’m going to pay in stamps. Stamps are legal tender.

Tony: Um, you DO know about the "forever" stamp, right?

I’ll be buying a bunch on about May 11th. ;)
