What in THE hell is going on here?
Ok, Seattle, that’s it. No more dessert until somebody tells me just what in the hell is going on with all the violence and otherwise inexcusable behavior over the past few months. Of course, The Seattle Crime Blog pointed out that crime rates actually fell in 2007 [scb]. However, 2008 seems to have started with a bang (sorry). Witness today on I-90, for instance [p-i]:
As they drove, the driver, a 37-year-old California man, began punching the male passenger seated in front, Merrill said. At some point, the driver pulled a knife and stabbed the other man.
He stopped the car as it approached the west high-rise and all three spilled out of the car as the fight raged on. Other motorists stopped in an apparent attempt to help, but the knife-wielding driver faced them all down and threatened to take one of their vehicles — which he promptly did.
The driver, now in a stolen Dodge Stratus, apparently drove over his victim as he sped off.
What?! Did this seriously happen?
All right, friends, readers, and Seattleites, can anyone come up with an explanation for this rash of violence? I don’t care what it is, just give me something to blame. And, really, I apologize for choosing the picture above for this post. But when things seem this bad and make this little sense, laughter seems appropriate.

Did they do something to the water?
You do not talk to me like that!! I work too hard to deal with this stuff!! I work too hard!! I’m a Division Manager in charge of 49 people!! I drive a Dodge Stratus!!"

Clearly, the answer is that it has not been raining enough this winter.
You left out the fact that the guy was intoxicated. At 1045am.
Now, I’m all for being drunk in the morning, but… c’mon, don’t go driving.
Thank you. You four get dessert. Everybody else is out of luck.
Bastard. You know I’m the diabetic =)
(j/k, Patricia Jane’ll eat it)
